Previous NFL players Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson and James Harrison are preparing for an exhibition fight in the MMA arena.

Johnson initially shared the news of the upcoming fight, scheduled before Super Bowl LIX, on X, formerly known as Twitter, expressing his excitement with the phrase, "I'm so hyped!"

The duration of the fight appears to be a topic of debate. Initially, Johnson stated it would be a three-round bout, but Harrison later insisted it would last five rounds.

The pair have already engaged in verbal sparring, with Johnson telling Harrison, "I'll knock you out in round 1, you don't need to worry about the rest."

Harrison responded, "You won't be able to stand after I'm done with you."

This potential fight won't mark Johnson's first time in the ring. In 2021, he participated in a four-round boxing match against MMA fighter and boxer Brian Maxwell during the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul bout.

Johnson spent 11 years in the NFL, with the majority of that time spent with the Cincinnati Bengals. He concluded his career with the New England Patriots.

Johnson previously engaged in boxing combat, participating in a match against Brian Maxwell in 2021.

During his 166-game tenure, Johnson accumulated 766 receptions for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns, earning Pro Bowler honors six times and first-team All-Pro status three times.

On the other hand, Harrison had a 15-year NFL career, mainly playing for the Steelers. Known for his intimidating defensive style, he won two Super Bowl rings with the team and was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 2008. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and a first-team All-Pro twice.

He also represented the Bengals in 2013 before returning to the Steelers. He played one game with the Patriots in 2017 before hanging up his cleats.

In his 193 career games, Harrison recorded 84.5 sacks and eight interceptions.

Johnson’s excitement for the upcoming fight is palpable, as he mentioned it being a great opportunity to showcase his skills in the world of sport.

This thrilling sporting event is set to test both Johnson and Harrison's formidable abilities, as they prepare to engage in a five-round contest.

Harrison bagged two Super Bowl championship titles while playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
