In the suburban town of San Isidro near Buenos Aires, a judicial body granted an extension for the second time to three of the eight accused individuals, pushing back their trial, initially set for June 4, to commence on October 1, now scheduled for March 11. According to Argentine newspaper La Nación.

The renowned soccer legend, who orchestrated Argentina's victory in the World Cup twice in 1986, passed away in November 2020 at the age of 60, following heart failure and surgery on his brain.

Individuals implicated in the demise of the ex-Boca Juniors and Napoli athlete include his neurosurgeon, psychologist, psychiatrist, and nursing staff. They may face imprisonment ranging from eight to 25 years, as per charges.

Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, many local residents continue to appreciate sports in San Isidro, particularly football. In his honored memory, annual charity football matches are organized in Argentina to raise funds for heart disease research.
