In the sci-fi action comedy, Blanchett returns as the bounty hunter Lilith to her home planet Pandora to fulfill a mission and find the daughter of the powerful Atlas (Édgar Ramírez, 47). She never thought she would find friends there, and soon form a dysfunctional family of outcasts with them.
A successful part of her mission involves collaborating with the former soldier Roland (Kevin Hart, 45), the pubescent explosives expert Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt, 16), Tina's bodyguard Krieg (German actor and boxer Florian Munteanu, 33), the scientist Dr. Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis, 65), and the robot Claptrap (Jack Black, 54).
"Borderlands" hits theaters on August 22.
