In a typical afternoon at a different tournament, Adam Hadwin's seventh hole would have produced the most bizarre sights of the day. However, during the second round of the PGA Championship, it was simply another hole.

PGA Championship: Admirer Removes Clothes to Retrieve Adam Hadwin's Club from Water

This past Friday at the Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky, a Canadian golfer was left befuddled when his club unexpectedly fell into the water. With many in disbelief and amusement, a dedicated fan took matters into their own hands, braving the waters and retrieving the club. Video footage captured the admirable act, leaving spectators in a state of awe.

As the crowd watched the show unfold, watchful eyes spotted the bystander strip down to his underwear and socks before paddling a short distance to obtain the errant golf stick. After a successful rescue, the fan was greeted by applause and a helping hand from the club's owner. A towel was promptly handed to the brave soul to help him dry off. Although Hadwin would go on to make a bogey on the par-five, his wife Jessica chose to find the humor in the situation. Commenting on the surreal incident, Jessica remarked on her anticipation for a "chill little kid free weekend" in Louisville and how it didn't quite turn out as expected.

Hadwin's total score of one-over-par 72 allowed him to qualify for the weekend at two-under, albeit 10 strokes behind Xander Schauffele. Schauffele boasted a solid performance of his own with a score of 66, earning him a warm welcome from the fans. Although the day concluded on a felony assault charge for the tournament favorite, the cheering crowds provided him with renewed vigor as he returned to the clubhouse. Scheffler weathered the commotion and focused on getting rest and preparation for an intense last two days.

The baffling incident involving a lost club has left details unanswered. However, the golfing pro has demonstrated previous misadventures, including tossing an 8-iron into the water at "the fifth major" back in March. He's also had his fair share of unusual situations, such as being mistakenly tackled by a security guard during his friend Nick Taylor's win at the Canadian Open in 2021.

But even these experiences pale in comparison to world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler's day on Friday when he was arrested, charged, and released without conviction for felony assault. The tournament favorite remained in good spirits, expressing satisfaction with pleasing the crowds one last time before stepping up to the tee.

The events of the day left the audience in awe. "I’ve kept myself in the tournament now with a pretty chaotic day," Scheffler said, promising to return to the course with a resurgent attitude for the final days.

As the story came full circle, Hadwin's wife Jessica chimed in on Twitter, jokingly suggesting that those similarly wronged by the golfing world could seek compensation. "There's only one logical next step after this latest incident," she teased, referring to the fan's unfortunate dive in search of the golfer's missing stick.

During the PGA Championship, a fan showed remarkable dedication by stripping down and retrieving Adam Hadwin's wayward golf club from the water. Despite the incident causing Hadwin to make a bogey, his wife Jessica found humor in the situation, even joking about potential compensation for similar incidents.

After his club retrieval, the applauding crowd and Hadwin himself were grateful to the fan for his act of sportsmanship. The incident was reminiscent of Hadwin's past golfing misadventures, such as tossing a club into the water and being mistakenly tackled at a tournament.
