- Persistent Appetite and Ponderous Reflections
Mentally, the tales have acclimated to the intense situation in "I'm a Star - Clash of Jungle Legends" (the current episode is first streamable on RTL+, then airs linearly on RTL). On day nine, however, bodily decay looms. Kader Loth (51) expresses, "I feel like the Titanic. It's only a matter of time before I go under." Luckily for Winfried Glatzeder (79), his departure is less grim than he might have anticipated. His exit is emotionally charged, sayings, "I feel like I'm at a funeral," and is comforted with a collective embrace from everyone present.
Emotional Interactions by the Fire
The somber atmosphere persists as Kader Loth and Danni Büchner (46) discuss the loss of family members. Loth shares the recent passing of her mother-in-law, while Büchner reminisces about her late husband Jens, who passed away in 2018: She finally felt free after two years of mourning. Her advice to her friend is poignant, "You have to give yourself and your grief time. [...] I cried so much."
Büchner opens up further, admitting to her struggles with depression and self-harm after enduring years of domestic abuse. It was the threat of losing her children that pushed her to overcome her hardships.
Meanwhile, the jungle inhabitants battle exhaustion and hunger. To keep themselves awake, they resort to various coping mechanisms. Kader Loth chatterboxes to stay alert, while Georgina Fleur (34) passively sleeps. The others' frustration with Fleur's disregard for their rule is palpable: "She annoys all of us, she never sticks to the damn rule of not sleeping during the day," says Büchner.
Hunger and Temper
The combined stress of hunger and tiredness pushed Sarah Knappik (37) and Giulia Siegel (49) to confront their long-standing disagreements. Kappnik attempts to explain why Siegel has hurt her feelings, but Siegel shows little empathy: "Ok, tell me when you're done." Their heated exchanges culminate in further unresolved tension.
Supper-Less Discontent
Hunger becomes a major problem for the group, and dinner offers no solace. Mola Adebisi (51) yearns for sushi, while Büchner envisions a doner. But Gigi Birofio (25) collapses, despairing, "I'm at the end, I'm at my limit," and hallucinates about pizza and pasta as if they were hidden treasures in the jungle.
Siegel's cooked quail with sour lemon and sandy kale only adds to the group's displeasure. Despite their hunger, they share the meal through grimaced expressions and suppressed nausea.
Leadership Turmoil
When Gigi is appointed team leader, he balks at his new position: "I don't want to have any responsibility!" His approach to leadership is unorthodox, commanding, "Don't get on my nerves and show some initiative!"
Eventually, he comes to terms with his role as a leader, and with a newfound sense of purpose, declares, "I'm going to be a father! The meaning of life: having children!" Kader's outlook, however, is gloomy, "One thing is certain, everyone here will be dead in a hundred years. Even the cameramen. All of us. And when we die, it will be as if we never existed."
Sarah Knappik and Elena Miras: No Gain
A jungle trial may have saved them, but Sarah Knappik and Elena Miras (32) fell short. They fought as a team on a seesaw, suspended over a pit filled with fish waste and slime. They struggled to spell words like "Africa" backward as well as name four African countries while perched dangerously above the pit.
Despite their valiant efforts, they failed to secure any stars, leaving their team without additional resources. The Titanic continues to sink with no end in sight.
In the midst of the jungle trials, Sarah Knappik and Elena Miras' team faced challenges, including spelling words backward and naming African countries. Unfortunately, they failed to secure any stars, adding to their team's struggles within the jungle camp.
As the group tries to cope with exhaustion and hunger, Georgina Fleur's disregard for the rule of not sleeping during the day irritates her fellow campmates, including Danni Büchner, who expresses her frustration openly.
