F1 racing competition - Pérez will be Verstappen's teammate at Red Bull until 2026.
Sergio Pérez, the Mexican F1 driver, will continue to race alongside Max Verstappen at Red Bull for the next two years. The team revealed this news with a contract extension for Pérez, keeping him with them until 2026. Initially, Pérez's contract was set to expire at the end of this season.
There were doubts about Pérez's future in Red Bull after he often couldn't match the performance of Verstappen. Right now, in the eighth race of the season, Pérez ranks fifth in the overall standings, trailing Verstappen by 62 points who is leading the championship. Since 2021, Pérez has been driving for top-tier racing team, Red Bull, and has managed to win five out of the six times he's been first.
Christian Horner, the team boss, shared his views on Pérez's extension, saying that stability and continuity are crucial for the team's performance. Horner believes that the pairing of Pérez and Verstappen is a winning formula, describing them as a "successful and robust" partnership.
