Passenger Cherilus is urinating on an elderly fellow traveler aboard an airplane.
In a shocking turn of events, ex-NFL player Gosder Cherilus is implicated in an outrageous incident on a flight. The football star, now 40, stands accused of urinating on an elderly passenger and attacking a male passenger during a flight from Boston to Dublin. The plane was forced to turn back, leading to Cherilus' arrest upon landing.
Numerous US news outlets report this alarming incident. According to a Massachusetts police report, the plane returned to Boston due to an "unruly passenger," which turned out to be Cherilus. The former Detroit Lions offensive lineman was arrested upon landing.
The victim, Connee Bush, described the incident to NBC Boston, stating, "I told him to stop and tried to push him away. It was an absolutely insane experience, one I never want to go through again." On Monday, Cherilus pleaded not guilty in court and chose not to speak to the media. In a social media post, he attributed his "inappropriate behavior" to a multi-hour flight delay and his use of sleeping pills that he didn't normally take.
20 seconds of shock
According to another police report obtained by the Associated Press, Cherilus was already intoxicated before boarding the flight. As per court documents, about an hour into the flight, he allegedly approached Bush, exposed himself, and urinated for approximately 20 seconds. The crew and passengers were reportedly shocked and fearful for their safety. On his way back to his seat, Cherilus is said to have struck an older man with his right hand.
The flight crew attempted to intervene, but Cherilus became uncooperative and aggressive. Police had to escort him off the plane after landing and used two sets of handcuffs due to his height of over two meters. The incident occurred over Canadian waters, leading to a federal investigation as well.
Since his release on a $2,500 bail, Cherilus is due in court again in October, as reported by NBC Boston.
The United States media widely covers the disturbing incident involving ex-NFL player Gosder Cherilus. Due to his behavior on the flight, the United States Marshals Service was involved in his removal from the plane over Canadian waters.
