- Pamela Anderson wore makeup to take off her old image.
Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson has largely given up wearing makeup these days, even for public appearances. She says this has won her new fans, with people stopping her on the street to say, "You know, I never liked you before, but I do now," as the 57-year-old told US magazine "Better Homes and Gardens".
Last year, an unmade-up appearance at the Paris Fashion Week caused a stir. Actress Scarlett Johansson, among others, praised Anderson for this appearance and her "strong message for women".
Louvre over makeup
But this was a spontaneous decision, Anderson now reveals. She'd rather visit the Louvre Museum than spend three hours in a makeup chair. "I didn't think anyone would even notice," said the 57-year-old.
Anderson, who rose to fame playing a lifeguard in the TV hit series "Baywatch", feels she's also shed an old image by letting go of heavy makeup. "What kind of cartoon character had I created of myself?" she muses. "It was funny, but I'm not that person anymore."
Anderson prefers spending time at the Louvre Museum over spending hours in a makeup chair. The television show "Baywatch," where she gained fame as a lifeguard, seems like a character she's moved away from, as she feels she's shed an old image by letting go of heavy makeup.
