Open conversation from Tuchel: "Naturally, I'm not content"
Thomas Tuchel currently serves as the coach at FC Bayern, though his tenure will be ending this summer after just winning one title. There are still two matches left, with only the runner-up spot left to play for. Tuchel is reflecting on his time there.
In an interview ahead of his final home game with Bayern on Sunday (17:30/DAZN and live ticker at ntv.de) against VfL Wolfsburg, Tuchel stated, "I'm not satisfied with my time at the German soccer powerhouse, FC Bayern. I joined to win titles. We didn't achieve that, and that's how you're evaluated."
In the Champions League, Bayern performed fairly well despite the semi-final defeat against Real Madrid. However, in the Bundesliga, they didn't shine as much. And it's Tuchel's fault, as he mentioned himself. "I'm not a fan of public balance sheets. It's too complicated to sum up everything in one answer."
Tuchel is yet to decide on his next move. He will think it over in the coming weeks in peace and quiet. After the match at TSG Hoffenheim a week later, he intends to focus on his personal plans for the future. Could that mean returning to England, where he won the Champions League with Chelsea FC in 2021?
Manchester United is rumored to be interested. "I don't know yet. I'll consider it calmly. It wasn't supposed to end like this, but things have been clear since February," Tuchel shared, insisting he's had no talks with other clubs yet.
Not much of a florist
Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann in March 2023 and had a contract until 2025. But in February, Bayern announced Tuchel's premature departure in the summer. Ever since, Munich has been scrambling to find a new coach. Tuchel will bid his farewell to his fans on Sunday. Will it be emotional? "I don't know yet. I'll see how it affects me." No gifts are expected from the club. "You don't need to send flowers when ending a contract without winning a title," he stated with a smile.
Tuchel is keen on keeping the focus high for the match against Wolfsburg, where Bayern will try to overtake Stuttgart in second place again. Despite the recent disappointments, Tuchel is keen to prevent the team from being too burdened while also maintaining a sense of seriousness. He wants the players to keep the laughter and cheerfulness.
Things don't look good in terms of injured players. FC Bayern will be missing Harry Kane, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, and Serge Gnabry, Tuchel confirmed. Kane is still dealing with a back problem, while Sané (pubic bone) and Musiala (knee pain) are expected to miss the last game of the season in Hoffenheim as well. For Gnabry (torn muscle bundle in his thigh), the season is over.

Tuchel's time at FC Bayern Munich in Soccer has been marked by one title win, but he's not satisfied as he joined to securing multiple triumphs. Despite Manchester United showing interest, Tuchel has yet to decide on his next move after his contract ends this summer.
In the midst of injuries to key players like Harry Kane, Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, and Serge Gnabry, Thomas Tuchel emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive team atmosphere leading up to their last match against VfL Wolfsburg.
