On a United Airlines flight from Vancouver to Houston, multiple passengers alleged they became ill, prompting the aircraft to undergo thorough disinfection.
Twenty-five passengers on Board Flight 1528 who reported feeling sick were part of a larger group of seventy-five individuals who had travelled on a cruise in Vancouver, as per the Houston Fire Department.
United Airlines didn't disclose which cruise these individuals had been on before the flight that took place that Friday. The plane held 163 passengers and 6 crew members.
The ill passengers landed in Houston at around 6:00 PM CT. Martee Black, a representative of Houston Fire Department, confided to CNN that they were feeling unwell "due to the cruise."
Upon arriving at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, the fire department promptly removed three patients from the aircraft. Despite this, none of them were taken to the emergency room, as confirmed by Black.
"United Airlines is working closely with health authorities to manage the situation," the airline declared in a statement. "The safety of our passengers and crew remains our chief concern."
The plane will be thoroughly cleaned before being employed once more, "as a precautionary measure," the airline added.
I've reached out to the Houston Health Department for a statement.
