End of the week, Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (43) will travel to Colombia, visiting the capital Bogotá and the regions of Cartagena and Cali. According to the "BBC", the Sussexes are expected to support projects that protect young people from cyberbullying during their visit.

The exiled royals were invited by Francia Márquez, the vice-president of the South American country and the first black woman to hold this role. The 42-year-old is committed to human rights and environmental campaigns. According to the vice-president's office, the couple will meet "leaders, youth, and women who represent the voices and efforts of Colombians dedicated to progress".

The visit is connected to the global ministerial conference on ending violence against children, which will take place in Colombia in November. Márquez has emphasized the need to address "cyberbullying, online exploitation, and the impacts of these threats on mental health", which will be a key focus of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's visit.

Prince Harry continues his mission

In a TV interview with the U.S. network "CBS News" on August 4, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan spoke about their goal to inform parents about safe social media use through their new "Archewell Foundation" initiative, "The Parents Network". Harry chose strong words to emphasize the issue: "It can happen to anyone. Children can be sitting in the next room on their phones and take their own lives shortly after."

First trip without chief of staff

As various media outlets reported on August 12, Harry's chief of staff, Josh Kettler, will not be accompanying him on this trip. He is said to have resigned from his position after only three months. The decision was mutual. Since Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018, Kettler is reported to be the 18th staff member to leave their service.

During their visit to Colombia, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will meet with "leaders, youth, and women" who are advocating for progress, as per the vice-president's office. These women are integral parts of Colombian society, working towards various causes.

The focus of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's visit to Colombia includes addressing cyberbullying, online exploitation, and their impacts on mental health, in line with Francia Márquez's emphasis on these issues.
