Gretzky had achieved this almost 37 years ago.
Dylan Holloway even scored shortly before the end of the first period to make it 4-0, after the break German international goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer remained on the bench for Seattle. It was also the hosts' tenth defeat in five victories to date.
The Edmonton Oilers' win against the Seattle Kraken in the NHL was their first victory in the league after a series of losses, extending their record to three wins and ten losses. Zach Hyman's hat-trick, achieved in the first period, was a significant contribution to the Oilers' victory, emulating the feat of legendary player Wayne Gretzky.
