Oilers end NHL losing streak after hat trick
The Edmonton Oilers with Germany's ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl have recorded their third win of the season in the North American NHL league after four defeats.
The Oilers won 4:1 at the Seattle Kraken, but are still the second weakest team in the NHL after losing ten games. Draisaitl did not score this time.
The match-winner in Seattle was Zach Hyman with an early hat-trick. Hyman scored in the 10th, 15th and 19th minutes to give the Oilers a 3-0 lead, making him only the second Oilers pro after legend Wayne Gretzky to score a flawless hat-trick in the first period. Gretzky had achieved this almost 37 years ago.
Dylan Holloway even scored shortly before the end of the first period to make it 4-0, after the break German international goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer remained on the bench for Seattle. It was also the hosts' tenth defeat in five victories to date.
