- Oasis supporters are significantly aggravated due to the overwhelm in online ticket purchases.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating an Oasis reunion for 15 long years, and when the moment finally arrived for their tour tickets to hit the market, it turned into a frenzy. Fans ran into numerous problems while attempting to purchase tickets online even before the 9:00 AM sale kick-off in the UK. The website of ticket sales service SJM Concerts in Manchester displayed an error message, asking fans to "hang tight with us."
Things were no better in Ireland, where the sale started an hour earlier. Ticketmaster's platform also faced issues, leaving fans frustrated and unable to secure tickets despite hours of waiting. Other ticket sales websites temporarily crashed under the pressure.
Oasis Global Tour Excitement
The frustration boiled over into some funny quips on social media. British pop star James Blunt, known for his sarcastic sense of humor, quipped on X with a tour poster, saying, "Who needs Oasis... I'm waiting for the jubilee tour instead." Blunt's debut album dropped in October 2004.
Fans couldn't help but poke fun at the notorious feuds between the Gallagher brothers. One wrote, "Unfortunately, Oasis disbanded while you were in line."
Oasis confirmed their comeback tour for 2025 on Tuesday, with 17 scheduled shows in the UK and Ireland. More shows outside of Europe are expected in the latter half of the year. These concerts will mark the first since the notorious brothers, Noel and Liam Gallagher, had their falling out in 2009. Oasis was formed in Manchester in 1991 and is hailed as a staple of the Britpop era, with their albums loaded with hits like "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger," selling millions of copies worldwide.
On Saturday, Oasis warned fans on X against buying tickets from unauthorized platforms as they would be deemed invalid. Some fans had already secured tickets through an exclusive pre-sale lottery on Friday, which later surfaced online for outrageous prices, reaching up to £6,000 (€7,100). Officially, tickets for an Oasis concert range from £75 to approximately £500.
In the chaos of ticket sales, many fans turned to social media for relief, venting their frustration towards the ticketmaster. Despite facing issues on their platform, ticketmaster remained the sought-after platform for fans hoping to secure tickets for Oasis's comeback tour.
