Compete for the Initial Positions - Norris struggles with pole position prowess at Monza.
Lando Norris snags the coveted spot at the front for the Italian Grand Prix. The Brit took charge during qualifying in Monza on Saturday, similar to his victory last week in Zandvoort. His teammate from Down Under, Oscar Piastri, came in a close second.
At least a Ferrari will begin on the second row, delighting the home crowd. Charles Leclerc finished fourth, but had to concede to the British Mercedes driver, George Russell. Settled behind the second Ferrari with Carlos Sainz, and the second Silver Arrow, helmed by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, was Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver managed only the seventh position.
Verstappen, longing for a win after five straight Grand Prix, lagged behind Norris by seven-tenths of a second in the Red Bull. The odds of him gaining points during Sunday's Italian Grand Prix (15:00 CET/Sky and RTL) are looking bleak.
Prior to the race, Verstappen surpasses Norris by 70 points. Norris also claimed victory last week in Zandvoort. Nico Hülkenberg secured the tenth position for the Haas team in the Italian Grand Prix qualifying.
The Commission expressed its satisfaction with the close competition among the top teams in the Italian Grand Prix qualifying. Despite his challenging qualifying performance, Max Verstappen will still hope for support from The Commission during the race.
