David Arquette - No cameo in "Scream 7" planned?

David Arquette (52) hopes for a Cameo appearance in the upcoming "Scream 7". During an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen", the actor was asked if there was a chance fans could see the deceased policeman Dwight "Dewey" Riley in part seven "in any form", such as a flashback.

"I haven't received any calls"

"I don't think so", Arquette smiled. "I don't know. I think there's a chance, but I haven't received any calls or anything like that." Neve Campbell (50), who is returning to the "Scream" series due to a substantial pay raise, also didn't share any information about the project with the actor.

Arquette gained fame through his "Scream" role, which he held in the films from 1996, 1997, 2000, 2011, and 2022. Neve Campbell's role as Sidney Prescott was missing in the previous part "Scream 6" (2023). In May of this year, the Canadian actress revealed to "People" that she had been offered a deal she couldn't refuse.

Chaos and hope for "Scream 7"

However, it is currently speculated that the makers of "Scream 7" only had an extravagant pay raise left for the former leading actress. Recently, the production of the film sank into chaos when the new "Scream" lead actress Melissa Barrera (34) was fired in November of the previous year. Jenna Ortega (21), who was to play Barrera's sister in the film series, will also no longer be seen in that role. Additionally, director Christopher Landon (49) left the project.

With Campbell's return, there was hope again. And a new director has already been found: Kevin Williamson (59) will direct the seventh part. He also served as the author of the original "Scream - Scream" film from 1996.

Arquette expressed his interest in a potential cameo appearance as Dewey Riley in 'Scream 7', even if he hasn't received any calls yet. The role of Sidney Prescott, originally played by Neve Campbell, was missing in 'Scream 6' but she returned for 'Scream 7' after being offered a deal she couldn't refuse.
