NHL: Draisaitl scores in Oilers' thumping win
The Edmonton Oilers led by national ice hockey player Leon Draisaitl have won two games in a row for only the second time in the NHL season. Two days after the 5:0 win against the Washington Capitals, they beat the Anaheim Ducks 8:2.
Draisaitl had one goal and one assist, but was overshadowed by his fellow forward Connor McDavid. The Canadian was directly involved in five of the Oilers' eight goals. In addition to tying the game at 2:2, he also set up four goals. The last of these was the 7:2 in overtime by Draisaitl in the final period. The Cologne native now has nine goals for the season.
Moritz Seider had previously scored with the Detroit Red Wings in a 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild. Lukas Reichel and the Chicago Blackhawks lost 4-2 to the St. Louis Blues, with both German internationals failing to score.
Leon Draisaitl's goal in the final period of the Oilers' 8:2 win over the Anaheim Ducks was set up by Connor McDavid, who was involved in five of Edmonton's eight goals in the game. Despite scoring and assisting once each, Draisaitl's performance was overshadowed by McDavid's in the NHL game.
Leon Draisaitl, a prolific scorer in the NHL, continued his impressive form in ice hockey by netting a goal for the Edmonton Oilers in their win against the Anaheim Ducks, a game where he wore the number 29 jersey, identical to the one he wears in the National Hockey League's (NHL) games.
