Vibrant world - News updates from Marianne Rosenberg this summer.

For singer Marianne Rosenberg, releasing new music is more thrilling now than it was at the start of her career. She views her upcoming album, "Bunter Planet," as her very own creation. "It's like my musical baby where my heart truly resides," the 69-year-old said in an interview with the German Press Agency. Today is the day of its release.

Now, Rosenberg considers herself the mastermind behind the whole musical production. Previously, record companies, producers, and other writers made the decisions. But Rosenberg prefers to work on her own. She's even defying her naysayers with the results. "At my age, if I still have a number one album, I can dismiss comments like 'Honey, your time is past,'" said the artist who skyrocketed with hits such as "He belongs to me," "I am like you," and "Marleen."

The new album is a sequel to "In the Name of Love," which Rosenberg released in 2020. "Bunter Planet" consists of 14 tracks, combining electric beats with her well-known voice. There's even potential for these songs to become summer anthems.

Rosenberg aims to make a political statement

The album features tracks like "Bunter Planet," "Liebe spüren," and "Keine Zeit." However, the love between two people isn't the only topic. Rosenberg explains, "It's not just about the connection between two individuals. It's about the shared experience, the shared emotions — those things are incredibly important to me." This includes "the beauty in teamwork, in origins, faith, and age."

Her new work is intended to communicate a political message. That's especially relevant today considering the challenging times, she added. "There's a lot of discrimination, hate messages, mutual rejection, and certain forms of war-like behavior. All of these things don't necessarily foster love and empathy among us." She believes in the return of the common good despite coming across as an optimist. "Then I'm quoting John Lennon: 'imagine.'"
