Transformers One - New trailer for prequel presented

During his time as Marvel superhero Thor, Chris Hemsworth (40) was a regular guest at the Comic Con in San Diego. Now he has returned in a different role. The Australian actor presented the new trailer for "Transformers One". The animated film tells the origin story of the "Transformers" film series and opens in German cinemas on October 10, 2024.

"We've been at war for thousands of years. But before we became enemies, we were like brothers," the teaser says. "Transformers One" tells the shared origin story of the big "Transformers" rivals Optimus Prime and Megatron. Back then, the young combat robots were still called Orion Pax (Optimus Prime) and D-16 (Megatron). They worked in a factory and didn't have transformation abilities yet.

These voices are still on board

Chris Hemsworth lends his voice to the young Optimus Prime in the English version. Brian Tyree Henry (42) voices Megatron alias D-16. To the voice cast also belongs Scarlett Johansson (39) as young Elita-1 and comedian Keegan-Michael Key (53) as B-127, who later becomes Bumblebee.

Before Chris Hemsworth took on the voice role in "Transformers One," he asked his children for advice. He revealed this during Comic Con, speaking to "People" about the film that clearly targets a younger audience than the live-action films.

Hemsworth's children not only gave their blessing but also supported their father during the recording. As "People" reported, they called out suggestions to him - or tried to distract him.

The new trailer was a highlight at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego, where Chris Hemsworth was in attendance. The trailer showcased the English voice of Optimus Prime in "Transformers One" by none other than Chris Hemsworth himself. The film, set to release in German cinemas in 2024, narrates the origin story of the Transformers series, starring Scarlett Johansson as young Elita-1 and Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron alias D-16. Hemsworth sought advice from his children before accepting the role, and they not only gave their blessing but also joined him during the recording sessions, offering suggestions or trying to distract him. The speaker roll at Comic-Con also featured Brian Tyree Henry, hosting or presenting at the event.
