Successive Triumphs - Netflix set to produce "Peaky Blinders" film featuring Cillian Murphy as lead actor
Word is out that there are future plans for a "Peaky Blinders" film, now officially approved by Netflix. Cillian Murphy will be reprising his iconic role as Tommy Shelby, the Birmingham gang leader. The announcement was made by "Deadline."
The movie is said to begin filming shortly and be directed by Tom Harper, previously the director of the show's first season. Steven Knight, the show's creator, is working on the script while Cillian Murphy will also be producing. "It seems like Tommy Shelby isn't done with me yet," says Murphy. "I'm excited to collaborate with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again on adapting 'Peaky Blinders' into a movie. It's all for the fans."

Initially reported in March by "Birmingham World," Stephen Knight shared that filming for the upcoming film would commence in the autumn. Plot details and additional casting information have yet to be revealed. However, Knight had previous hinted that the movie would be set during World War II.
"Peaky Blinders" originally launched on the BBC back in 2013, gaining global acclaim. The show centers around the Shelby family, located in Birmingham, who form the notorious gang known as the Peaky Blinders. The series cast includes Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson, and Sophie Rundle, concluding in its sixth season in 2022.
