Netflix has secured the rights to Joe Carnahan's (55) crime thriller "RIP." The streaming giant confirmed this in a statement. Concrete details about the film's plot are still not known. Here's what we do know: The leading roles will be played by Matt Damon (53) and Ben Affleck (51). Carnahan will serve as both writer and director.

The two actors, who have been friends since school, last worked together on the film "Air: The Big Hit," which is a biopic about the partnership between basketball legend Michael Jordan (61) and Nike's basketball division. The film, which was the first production from their 2022-founded Artists Equity, hit theaters in April 2023.

Preparations for "RIP" are underway

Damon and Affleck, who have been friends since school, most recently worked together on the film "Air: The Big Hit." This biopic about the partnership between basketball legend Michael Jordan (61) and Nike's basketball division was the first production from their 2022-founded Artists Equity and hit theaters in April 2023.

According to Netflix, Artists Equity is currently preparing for the production of "RIP." Additional cast members for the film will be announced gradually.

RIP, the upcoming crime thriller from Netflix, will see Ben Affleck and Matt Damon reuniting on screen once again. In a statement, Netflix confirmed that Ben Affleck, along with Matt Damon, will be starring in this Joe Carnahan-directed project.
