Nagelsmann sets a deadline for Sane's decision.

Leroy Sané, a German footballer, is facing issues with both red card suspensions and injury concerns ahead of the European Championship. Coach Julian Nagelsmann urges Sané to train and play against Greece to prove his fitness and rhythm.

Nagelsmann said, "Sané must practise this week, and he also needs to play against the Greeks. He was suspended for three matches and has been out of his game with the national team." Sané missed the 0:0 against Ukraine due to a red card in the November test match against Austria. In addition, he is still not fully fit because of his injury. Nagelsmann stated, "Today, Sané showed improvement physically. He worked hard in the morning."

Sané remarked to "Kicker," "I want to be evaluated based on my performance. The coach and the team must know they can depend on me." Sané's role during the European Championship is uncertain. He could potentially be a substitute player. He said, "My personal goal is to start the game from the beginning."

Nagelsmann focused on Sané's health, "The shin issue won't completely vanish. We need to manage it. Sané might not be able to last 90 minutes in every game." Nagelsmann added, "He has a chance to make his way into the starting lineup, but only if he trains and participates in team practices."

The German team places significant trust in Sané for the home tournament. This is partly due to the changed atmosphere within the team, which Nagelsmann describes as being "more relaxed" than in the past. "There's a bit more carefreeness going on. The mood is fantastic. It's a great mix. We understand each other well on the pitch, as well as off it," said Sané. The team's morale is also good, according to Sané. However, he acknowledged that there was a missing spirit before, which is now present. "We need to maintain this energy for the upcoming games," Sané said.

Nagelsmann plans to include Sané in the game against Greece on Friday (8:45 p.m./RTL and in the ntv.de live ticker). He said, "He doesn't require 90 minutes, just some playing time." Sané's future participation in the European Championship will be determined after the game against the Greeks.
