Nagelsmann sets a deadline for Sane's decision.

Leroy Sané, a German footballer, is facing issues ahead of the European Championship. Not only has he received a red card suspension, but there are also concerns over his fitness. National coach Julian Nagelsmann has made it clear that Sané must train this week and play against Greece in order to prove himself. He has also been warned about his lack of rhythm on the national team level.

Sane, who is 28 years old, missed out on playing against Ukraine due to a red card in the friendly match against Austria in November. Additionally, he is still recovering from an injury. "He made a good physical impression today. He trained hard in the morning," Nagelsmann mentioned about Sané's progress.

In a conversation with "Kicker", Sané expressed his desire to prove his worth on the field: "I want to go by performance. I want the coach and the team to know that they can rely on me." However, Nagelsmann has not confirmed if Sane will be a starting player for the European Championship. At best, he could play a joker role in the tournament. Sane believes that he can contribute significantly: "My expectation of myself is to be on the field from the start."

Nagelsmann emphasized that Sané's shin splint problem would take time to heal: "The shin splint problem doesn't go away so quickly. We have to steer that." Sané might be considered for a spot in the starting lineup, but only if he trains and participates in team training.

Sané feels that the atmosphere in the German team has improved significantly and set the mood for the upcoming European Championship. "There's a bit more ease there. The mood is good. It's a great mix. We understand each other well on the pitch, just as well off the pitch," said Sané. He also noted that there was a sense of camaraderie among the team members. "In the past, everyone understood each other well," said Sané, "but somehow, that special spirit was missing, which is now there. We have to nurture this energy in the next few weeks, because that's what we need in the opening match."

Nagelsmann seems to have plans for Sane in the last European Championship test match against Greece on Friday, and hopes that Sane can get some playing time. "He must not play 90 minutes, but get playing time," said Nagelsmann. The future of Sane's involvement in the German team would be determined after this match. "We'll see what happens before Scotland," said Nagelsmann, referring to the European Championship opener on June 14.

Desiring to secure his spot in the national soccer team, Sanè expressed his willingness to contribute significantly to Germany's campaign in the tournament.

The European Football Championship 2024 serves as an opportunity for both Julian Nagelsmann and Leroy Sanè to demonstrate their prowess on the international stage, especially considering the German team's strong focus on teamwork and camaraderie that Sanè pointed out as crucial for their success in the tournament.
