- Music group issues caution against excessively expensive ticket sales.
Oasis enthusiasts jumped into action early Saturday morning (August 31) to grab tickets for the band's 2025 reunion tour, as general sales commenced. Some fans initially encountered difficulties on the official ticket-selling websites.
Band Issues a Preemptive Warning
Beforehand, the band had advised fans against selling tickets at exorbitant prices for their return tour. Within minutes of the pre-sale, some tickets were already being listed for thousands of pounds. A small number of fans managed to secure tickets during the three-hour window on the previous Friday evening. Shortly after, these tickets were available online for over £6,000 (approximately €7,100), which is around 40 times the regular price of a standing ticket, as reported by BBC. Oasis urged their fans not to sell tickets at inflated prices on unauthorized websites, as these tickets could potentially be invalid.
Approximately 1.4 million tickets are expected to be on sale for the 17 concerts in the UK and Ireland in July and August of the following year.
Brothers Noel (57) and Liam Gallagher (51) established Oasis in 1991 along with three friends. The band went on to become the leading act of the Brit-Pop movement. Unfortunately, the brothers' constant squabbles led to the band's dissolution in 2009. Since then, rumors of an Oasis reunion have circulated. On August 27, 2024, the group put an end to all speculation with a simple post and the words "It's happening." The announced concerts are believed to be the only ones in Europe for the next year, with plans for performances on other continents to follow.
Fan enthusiasm for the Oasis reunion tour was so high that some tickets were being resold at inflated prices on unauthorized websites, as high as £6,000, despite the band's warning. Given the high demand for Oasis tickets, fans who managed to secure them during the pre-sale were in a prime position to profit, but the band strongly urged against it.
