Much praise for Havertz after winning goal and leading the table
The winning goal to take the lead in the Premier League has earned the recently criticized international Kai Havertz a lot of praise.
"Against teams that defend their penalty area in this way, you need exactly this kind of player profile. He's exceptional at it. He won the game for us today," praised coach Mikel Arteta after his 200th game in charge of Arsenal FC. Havertz scored with his head in the 1-0 win against Brentford FC ten minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 89th minute. Because Manchester City drew 1-1 against Liverpool FC, Arsenal moved up to first place.
Havertz, who had been deployed at left-back in national team coach Julian Nagelsmann's 3-2 draw with Turkey, was delighted with the significance of his second goal since moving from Chelsea FC to his city rivals. "It was a special moment for me to be able to celebrate in front of the fans with the coach and my teammates," said the 24-year-old. "It's special, you play soccer for moments like that, moments like that make me proud."
Difficult start at Arsenal
Havertz was criticized by Arsenal supporters because he had rarely made the difference since the transfer. "I've had a difficult few weeks and months, but I'm happy and hope to repeat that in the coming games," he said.
"When things are easy, they are not appreciated. If things had been easier today, he wouldn't have gotten the recognition he's gotten now," Arteta said, referring to the German's dry spell. "Everyone has hugged him and told him how much we love him - and there's a reason for that. It's because of the way he behaves in difficult moments. He's a role model for all of us in terms of what you have to do when you're in trouble."
In the aftermath of his game-winning header against Brentford FC, Kai Havertz, previously criticized by Arsenal fans, found himself praised for his ability in tight defensive situations, similar to those commonly encountered in the Premier League. Arsenal's rivals, Manchester City, drew against Liverpool FC, allowing Arsenal to claim the top spot in the league.
Despite his struggles at Arsenal initially, Havertz's performance against Brentford FC showcased his value in key moments, earning him admiration from not only his coach, Mikel Arteta, but also his teammates and supporters.
