Their final group game is against Great Britain on Friday (20:15).
Germany's winning goal was scored by Niklas Wellen in the 3rd minute. Earlier, they had beaten France (8:2) and South Africa (5:1), but suffered an unexpected defeat against Spain (0:2). Coach André Henning's team aims to win the gold medal in Paris, a feat they last achieved in 2012.
