- Meaningful resuscitation or pipe reptiles?

Originally, Apple's subsidiary, Beats by Dre, had laid the classic Bluetooth speaker, Beats Pill, to rest two years ago, shifting its focus solely to headphones. However, the familiar device has made a comeback, resurfacing in the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia a few weeks ago. Starting August 6, the devices will be available for order in Germany and 90 other countries at 169.95 EUR, with delivery starting on August 8. The news agency spot on news was able to test the speaker before its market launch.

Externally, the new Bluetooth speaker remains faithful to its original cigar shape and is only distinguishable from its predecessor upon closer inspection. Available in matte black, champagne, and signal red, the Beats Pill once again gives the impression of a high-quality, well-crafted product. However, under the hood, there have been significant changes from the previous Pill models, which were indeed necessary. Many users had criticized the predecessors for not reaching the bass pressure of comparable devices, which was unusual for Beats headphone products.

## Beats Pill impresses with strong battery performance

In the test, the speakers lived up to the promised improvements. With a distinct bass emphasis and strong deep frequency accentuation, they provide particular enjoyment for fans of hip-hop music or electronic sounds. For a relatively small device, this is an impressive result, even surpassing the subjective sound perception of products from Bose, Sonos, Sony, or JBL in many aspects. The achievable volume is more than sufficient, and the disturbing distortion and clipping that were common in the previous model are a thing of the past.

Even with less bass-heavy music or podcasts, the Beats Pill produces a pleasant sound, but it falls slightly short of Bose or Sonos in terms of clarity and crispness. However, one decisive factor of the new Beats Pill is unmatched: battery life. The stated 24 hours of continuous playback was easily achieved in the test. No comparable device in the same price range and size comes close to this performance. For comparison, the Sonos Roam 2 advertises a battery life of only 10 hours, and the Bose SoundLink Flex, Sony ULT Field 1, or JBL Flip 6 only 12 hours.

The Beats Pill is fully compatible with iOS and Android devices, featuring one-click pairing and the ability to use "Find My" or "Locate My Device" features. Two Beats Pill speakers can also be connected to play music in stereo mode. Unfortunately, Beats has not integrated AirPlay, which prevents full integration into the Apple ecosystem.

## Conclusion:

The Beats Pill does not revolutionize the market for small, portable Bluetooth speakers. However, those who plan to use the devices extensively and outdoors, and prefer a loud, bass-heavy listening experience, should consider a purchase. For those who also want to use the speakers as a sound system in their homes, competitors like Sonos and others may offer more suitable devices. Nevertheless, the Beats Pill is a high-quality product with strong sound quality and exceptional battery life at a fair price.

The Beats Pill's resurgence in the United States, Canada, UK, and Australia is a significant development for music enthusiasts, offering a new opportunity to experience its improved features. With its impressive battery life of up to 24 hours, the Beats Pill outshines other devices in its price range and size, making it an attractive option for those who value prolonged use and powerful bass.
