WM-Followers Lando Norris secures Pole Position for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The British McLaren driver outpaced his Australian teammate Oscar Piastri at the Hungaroring, taking the top spot.

Sergio Pérez, Verstappen's Red Bull teammate, experienced another significant setback in the fight to keep his Red Bull seat. The underperforming Mexican lost control of his Red Bull on a wet track in the first qualifying session and crashed into the track barrier. He ultimately finished in 16th place. Shortly before the end, Yuki Tsunoda (10th) in the AlphaTauri caused an interruption with a crash.
