Actor Mads Mikkelsen doesn't hold onto past regrets, as he revealed in an interview with dpa. "I'm not the type who dwells on the past and things I've done wrong," the 58-year-old said. "Even the really bad stuff, I don't regret those." Although there might be a couple of things that he wishes he hadn't done, he prefers not to disclose them.

Mikkelsen believes mistakes serve a purpose, either to learn from them or, perhaps, they simply make up part of who we are. "There's no point in saying 'I wish I hadn't done that.' If you hadn't done it, you wouldn't be who you are today," he explained. However, if someone has committed a truly horrific act, it's likely appropriate to feel remorse, he acknowledged.

In Nikolaj Arcel's historical drama "King's Land," which opens in German cinemas on June 6th, Mikkelsen stars as a resolute Danish war veteran. This character relentlessly strives to transform a barren wasteland into fertile land for the Danish king. However, his intense focus on achieving this goal ultimately comes at the expense of connecting with those around him. When asked if he'd regret anything as his character, Mikkelsen admitted he could see himself regretting some actions.
