Liverpool supporters honor Klopp with a remade Beatles anthem

Jürgen Klopp won't bring another title for Liverpool FC this season, but their supporters don't mind. The penultimate match of Klopp's reign at Liverpool displayed this, as they honored him and cheered on the Beatles.

Klopp put a hand on his heart, waved, and blew kisses towards the Liverpool FC fans. While his team could only manage a draw against Aston Villa (3:3, 2:1), the supporting fans still honored their coach. He seemed to relish every moment of his final goodbye from the Liverpool FC away section - his tenure as manager at the renowned Anfield Road in Liverpool ends on Sunday.

The fans were already celebrating their coach and sang a rewritten version of the Beatles hit "I Feel Fine" for him during the first half: "I'm glad he followed through on what he said. Jürgen told me we'd win the Premier League."

An own goal from Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez and goals from Cody Gakpo after a video review and Jarell Quansah gave Liverpool a seemingly comfortable lead. However, Youri Tielemans equalized for the hosts, who are trying to secure a spot for next season's top division. Substitute Jhon Duran scored twice for the fourth-placed team in the final minutes to salvage a point.

Klopp's team had already dropped out of the title race, but qualification for the Champions League is already guaranteed. "In my opinion, the story of the season has been the lads' impressive character and attitude," said Klopp. Liverpool had the chance to win all four trophies this year, but could only manage to win the League Cup. Klopp celebrated the victory over Chelsea in February enthusiastically.

Klopp's time at the River Mersey has been marked by success. He earned eternal fame with the Champions League title in 2019 and the first championship in 30 years in 2020, and kept his title promise. On Sunday (5pm/Sky and live ticker at ntv.de), he will stand on the Anfield touchline as the LFC coach for the last time, taking on Wolverhampton Wanderers. In the emotional finale - in front of the home crowd - he faces an even more touching farewell.
