Premier League - Liverpool FC secure a must-win at bottom club Sheffield

Liverpool FC secured a must-win at bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United in the Premier League and kept in touch with leaders Arsenal FC.

However, coach Jürgen Klopp 's team could only breathe a sigh of relief after Dominik Szoboszlai scored in stoppage time (90.+4 minutes) to make the final score 2:0 (1:0).

The only goal for a long time was scored by captain Virgil van Djik with his head after a corner (37'). Without ex-Bundesliga player Joel Matip, who was injured on his knee, the visitors missed the other opportunities for a second goal. Sheffield came away empty-handed in the first game under returning manager Chris Wilder.

Pascal Groß scores for Brighton

Meanwhile, international Pascal Groß scored to complete Brighton & Hove Albion's comeback against Brentford FC. The midfielder equalized in the 31st minute and Jack Hinshelwood scored the winner to make it 2-1 (52'). Bryan Mbeumo (27th/penalty) had put the visitors ahead.

FC Fulham's 5:0 win against Nottingham Forest was a clear-cut affair. The team led by German keeper Bernd Leno celebrated with braces from Raul Jimenez (34th/54th) and Alex Iwobi (30th/73rd) as well as Tom Cairney's goal (86th).
