Tennis player Alexander Zverev makes headlines. - Legal proceedings against a tennis star have been terminated.

A three-day court case against German tennis player Alexander Zverev (27) for alleged physical harm has come to an end. According to a statement released by his legal team on June 7th, the Berlin District Court Tiergarten decided to drop the charges. Consequently, Zverev is considered innocent.

Back in July 2024, the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office filed a request to issue an arrest warrant against Zverev at the Berlin District Court Tiergarten. The complainant and alleged victim was his ex-partner, an Olympic champion.

Concluded to "settle the dispute amicably"

The statement on Friday indicates that the public prosecutor's office, Zverev's defense team, and his ex-partner mutually agreed to end the case. This was done to "settle the dispute amicably" and "shorten the proceedings, especially in the interest of the shared child." The lawyers emphasized that the termination does not involve an admission or confession of guilt. Zverev's innocence under the law remains intact.

Following the termination of the legal proceedings, Zverev can now concentrate on his tennis career. On June 7th, he will compete against Casper Ruud (25) from Norway at the French Open in Paris at 17:30 for a spot in the final.
