Leading contender Marijan Griebel delivers exceptional results in the Hunsrück region.

Marijan Griebel and Tobias Braun emerged victorious in the 34th Hunsrück Rallye as the reigning DRM champion, continuing their winning streak in the German Rally Championship. The duo claimed first place in five of the event's eight special stages, leaving their competitors in the dust.

Griebel drove a fantastic race, despite the rain on his first appearance at the Hunsrück. "Overall, this was a great performance by us, but also by the car which ran flawlessly. The racing stages at Hunsrück are some of the most challenging in the DRM, and it was a blast," said Griebel.

His fellow Škoda racers Julius Tannert and Pirmin Winklhofer came in second place following three wins in special stages, but ended up 22.5 seconds behind. "I've never been to Idar-Oberstein before, so this was a new experience for me. The stages were muddy and featured sharp turns that were a challenge. We tried our best, but we couldn't catch up to Marijan," explained Tannert. Dennis Rosteck and Stefan Kopczyk finished in third place, celebrating their third consecutive win in the DRM Masters. "This rally was supposed to be more subdued, but it turned out to be a high-speed thrill ride from the get-go. The event itself and the organization were exceptional. I hope this rally becomes a permanent fixture on the DRM calendar," said Rosteck.

In the DRM2 classification, Tom Kässer and Stephan Schneeweiß emerged victorious for the third time this season in a Peugeot 208 Rally4. They outperformed the competition with a faultless race. "This rally is exciting. The first loop was treacherous and unpredictable, but we held our own and even managed to beat Max Reiter for the first time," said Kässer.

Max Reiter had a tough day with tire issues, which didn't escalate further. "We had some issues with the tires right at the start, but luckily it didn't affect our performance. We were able to catch up a bit and get closer to the top, but we couldn't surpass second place," summed up Reiter. Colin Jünker and Thomas Decker took third place in the Ford Fiesta Rally4.

The 34th Hunsrück Rallye delighted spectators with its thrilling special stages, making it a zooming spectacle for those present. Numerous fans flocked to the various viewing points, enjoying the action up close in the gemstone region. The winners in the different classes were honored at the finish line in Veitsrodt just after 6:30 p.m.
