Kroos discusses nerve-racking weeks.

"In the club's final days, it's decided that Toni Kroos will keep chasing trophies with the German national team. Kroos experiences a heart-pounding moment during his last lap in his career. He exits Real Madrid as a Champions League winner, but has little time to process it - which he finds beneficial.

For Kroos, it's been a rollercoaster couple of weeks. After Real Madrid's last home game, they won the King's Class, and in just seven days, he starts with Germany in the home Euro. The constant stream of highlights, according to him, aids in staying game-ready and potentially not drowning in emotions.

"This turn of events - winning the Champions League after my farewell game - was the best-case scenario. Even in preparation for the current Euro, this turned out to be beneficial," Kroos reminisced during a joint podcast with his brother Felix "Simply Balls." He had said an emotional goodbye while playing his last home game for Real against Betis Sevilla.

This weekend will forever be etched in his memory, Kroos affirmed. "I will never forget this weekend, and I don't want to." Over time, he anticipates being reminded through pictures and videos. "But switching gears immediately was the best decision." Merely two days following the league match, preparation for the Champions League final began, resulting in Real's 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund a week later.

"I was aware: From now on, it could potentially be about something much bigger, namely ending my career with a golden or silver experience. This was my sixth Champions League title and my fifth with Real," said Kroos. Beginning June 14, he'll kick off the European Championship with Germany against Scotland, still seeking that silver cup. From there, he'll exit the soccer world altogether.

On Friday (20.45 p.m./RTL and in the ntv.de live ticker), Germany's national team will take on Greece in their final test game prior to the Euro in Mönchengladbach. Afterward, national coach Julian Nagelsmann will reveal who's being cut from the team - but Toni Kroos has no reason to fear this."
