Coach Julian Nagelsmann desires that Toni Kroos, a key national player, attains the title of European championship in his final career. Speaking during the German national team's training camp in Blankenhain, he shared, "Naturally, I hope he wins the title. This way, we can conclude a beautiful tale." The 34-year-old Kroos declared earlier that he will end his remarkable professional athletic journey following the Champions League game between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in London and the subsequent home competition.

Nagelsmann didn't express surprise at this announcement, as he had been presupposing it within the national team setup. "For us, I've believed it to be the case. I think he's been contemplating it for a while at the club," Nagelsmann shared. Over the weekend, Kroos was praised by the fans following his last home game for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu Stadium.

Nagelsmann also commented, "To me, it seems sensible when players don't skip moments during their retirement. Toni doesn't have any obligation to prove anything to others. He's set to play a significant tournament, which he's greatly anticipating and has a chance to win yet another title. This way, I feel he would have achieved everything."

During the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Kroos won the championship with the German national team. He triumphantly captured the Champions League with Bayern Munich (2013), as well as winning four titles each in Germany and Spain. After 108 matches representing his country, he is yet to become a European champion.

Nagelsmann spoke confidently, "It would be an astonishing story for us as well as for him if he managed to crown his career once more. Then it would be the ideal occasion to conclude his career." The coach believes Kroos, who had an outstanding season with Real Madrid, will still "give a fabulous performance at the tournament."

DFB Sports Director, Rudi Völler, expressed a wish that Kroos "plays his final game on July 14," or, in other words, at the EM final taking place in Berlin. DFB president Bernd Neuendorf called Kroos the most successful player the team has ever had at the EM debut. With this title, he could cap off his career.
