English King Charles III has extended his support to England's National Coach Gareth Southgate and his team following their 1:2 loss against Spain in the EURO final. "Despite the fact that the victory was denied to you tonight, my wife and I, along with our entire family, invite you to keep your chins up," reads a statement shared on X by the King.

"Those who have ever participated in sports activities will know how despairing one can feel after such a result, especially when the prize was so close – and we will join you in expressing sympathy. We will congratulate Spain as well."

Encouraging Words from King Charles after EURO Final

The statement continues: "But please be aware that your success in reaching the EURO final is an impressive achievement in itself, bringing pride to a nation that will continue to cheer on the Three Lions – and there are many triumphs yet to come."

The Spanish Royal House congratulated their team on the EURO title: "EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!!!! You are the best team, you made every game an enjoyment for us. Heartfelt congratulations", writes the Royal House on X. In the post, it is further stated: "This result is well deserved, given what we have seen on the field throughout EURO 2024. Let's celebrate!"
