England in EURO final - King Charles and Prince William in good mood
With a winning goal in the last minute, England secured their place in the EUFA European Championship final on Wednesday evening (10th July) with a 2:1 victory. The British royals closely followed the nerve-wracking match against the Netherlands. King Charles III (75) congratulated the English national team via Instagram, also adding a humorous request.
The penalty shootout not good for Charles' blood pressure
"My wife and I join our entire family in congratulating you heartily on reaching the finals of the UEFA European Championship - and sending you our very best wishes for the game on Sunday", so the Monarch.
Charles added to his post with the wish to win, "before it comes to last-minute goals or another penalty drama". Because that would "significantly alleviate the strain on the collective heartbeats and blood pressures of the nation".
Prince William celebrates England's goalscorer Ollie Watkins
While Charles' son William expressed his joy through an Instagram story, directly addressing the goalscorer Ollie Watkins (28) who scored the winning goal in the 91st minute. "What a great thing, Ollie! Congratulations England! EURO2024 semifinalists", William celebrated the English EM-team.
Princess Eugenie is nervous - including a baby video of August
And on the Instagram account of William's cousin Princess Eugenie (34), the British national team was enthusiastically cheered on. There, the daughter of Prince Andrew (64) posted an old video before the kick-off of a match, presumably from the EM phase of 2021, in which England played against Italy in the final. Baby August wears a white romper with the Three Lions crest in the clip. "Looking back at Baby Augie. Wishing England good luck tonight", wrote Eugenie.
The EUFA European Championship final will take place on the coming Sunday, 14th July, at 9 pm against Spain.
In response to England's victory, King Charles III shared his congratulations and well wishes on Instagram, asking for a less dramatic finish to the final. Prince William also celebrated the team's victory through an Instagram story, directly addressing goalscorer Ollie Watkins. Princess Eugenie, on her Instagram account, posted an old video of her son August wearing a Three Lions crest romper, wishing the team good luck for the upcoming final against Spain. The British royals, including Prince William and Princess Eugenie, closely followed England's EURO journey, filled with excitement and anticipation. With the mood for a party in England, the nation eagerly awaits the EUFA European Championship final on Sunday. Despite the nerves, Ms. Eugenie remains a strong supporter of the English national team.
