A fan favorite was eliminated: model Armin from Kempten in Allgau didn't advance to the semi-finals of "Germany's Next Topmodel." In the latest episode, the 27-year-old's journey on the show came to an end. "I truly believed you'd make it to the finals, that's why I'm so shocked to say this now," host Heidi Klum shared. "But unfortunately, you won't be getting a photo today, Armin."
During a photo shoot where contestants had to jump from bungee rigs with swords, the young man didn't manage to impress the jury, which also included Thomas Hayo and Kristian Schuller. "The spark just didn't ignite for you today," Hayo commented.
The eliminated model was stunned. "The dream I've been nurturing – and then someone bursts it," he explained his shattered hopes for the Topmodel title. "Even though Heidi's words stung me, taking part in the show remains the most extraordinary experience." He tried to remain calm, "Everyone has to leave at some point."
The semi-finals will proceed without him. History will be made on this season of "Germany's Next Topmodel" as the semi-finals will be aired on a Tuesday: ProSieben will air them in the coming week on June 11th at 8:15 pm. The live finale is scheduled just two days later.
Only nine contestants remain in the running for the title: Fabienne (21) from Solingen, Frieder (25) from Berlin, Grace (25) from Düsseldorf, Jermaine (20) from Kassel, Lea (24) from Düsseldorf, Linus (25) from Berlin, Xenia (24) from Hof, and the twins Julian and Luka (24) from Frankfurt am Main, who are now treated as one candidate on the show.
