Stage instead of screen - Keanu Reeves rocks Europe with band Dogstar

Keanu Reeves (59) not only masters acting - since 1991, he has also been a musician for the band Dogstar. Recent images from the Dogstar tour once again show how much he enjoys taking a break from Hollywood and instead rocking Europe instead. Last Tuesday (25. June), Reeves and his two bandmates Robert Mailhouse (62, drums) and Bret Domrose (55, guitar) were at work in Zagreb, Croatia, heating up the guests of the INmusic Festival at Jarun Lake.

Reeves, wearing a simple black outfit and visibly enjoying himself, played the bass guitar, as clips from the concert reveal. He frequently looked happily but calmly into the cheering crowd.

Back in the recording studio due to Corona

Two weeks ago, Reeves was seen at the German twin festival Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. Next up are gigs in Serbia at the Arsenal Fest 2024 (27. - 29. June), followed by two concerts in Italy (29. and 30. June). Starting August 8, the band will tour the USA.

The fact that Keanu Reeves is performing on stage and even playing the bass again is due to the Corona lockdown. Since the film industry was completely shut down at the time, the three band members found themselves back in the recording studio after a long hiatus and wrote new songs. The result was the October 2023 released album "Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees".

Busy in Hollywood as well

Fans of Reeves need not worry about only being able to admire their favorite actor on the music stage in the future. According to industry site IMDb, there are currently seven film productions with him in a leading role in the works. Among them is the "Constantine" sequel, the "John Wick" spin-off "Ballerina", and the new Ruben Östlund film "The Entertainment System Is Down", in which Daniel Brühl (46), Kirsten Dunst (42), and Joel Edgerton (50) also participate. In short: The entertainment system won't be shutting down anytime soon because of Reeves.

  1. Despite being in Croatia for a music festival in Zagreb, Keanu Reeves is also busily working on seven film productions in Hollywood.
  2. Due to the Coronavirus lockdown that closed the film industry, Keanu Reeves, Robert Mailhouse, and Bret Domrose found time to write new songs and return to the recording studio, resulting in the release of the album "Somewhere Between The Power Lines And Palm Trees" in October 2023.
  3. Previously seen at the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals in Germany, Reeves and his band Dogstar will next perform at the Arsenal Fest 2024 in Serbia and two concerts in Italy before embarking on a tour of the USA, starting August 8.
  4. While many fans may enjoy watching Reeves perform on stage in Europe, they need not worry about missing him on the Hollywood screen, as he is currently scheduled for seven film projects with leading roles.
