Kate Expresses Remorse for Missing Trooping the Color Practice

The Irish Guard has been present at the momentous "Trooping the Colour" parade for 460 years. Currently, Princess Kate holds the position of their Honorary Colonel, but her illness means she can't attend the rehearsal. Additionally, her attendance at the actual parade remains questionable.

In a letter sent out via a social media platform like X, British Princess Kate expressed her support for the Irish Guard and their rehearsal for the traditional parade "Trooping the Colour." With regrets due to her sickness, she advised them in her role as Honorary Colonel, "Please relay my apologies to the entire regiment." She hoped to represent them all again soon. The Irish Guard responded graciously, appreciating Kate's supportive message and wishing her a speedy recovery.

The "Trooping the Colour" parade is an annual event in June coinciding with the monarch's birthday. Taking place on the 15th of June, King Charles III., also undergoing cancer treatment, will preside over the ceremony. It is uncertain if Kate will be present as well. Following a period of secrecy about her health, Kate shared her diagnosis with the public in March after months of conjecture. She has not provided information on her specific type of cancer or the treatment she's undergoing.

King Charles III., despite his ongoing medical condition, has begun to assume his public obligations again. This week he also participated in commemorative events for the 80th anniversary of the Allied attack on Normandy in World War II.

The centuries-old tradition of "Trooping the Colour" demands the attendance of all members of the royal family. Likely, Charles will partake in the event with his wife Camilla in a carriage. Nevertheless, he may only observe the affair from the podium, as he did previously.
