Royal Joy in the Jordanian Royal Family: Crown Prince Hussein (29) and Princess Rajwa (30) welcomed their first child on Saturday (3rd August). The royal court shared a video on Instagram showing the couple's child. In a statement, the palace announced that they named their daughter Iman.
Celebration of Royal Offspring
In the short clip, Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II cradles his daughter, beaming with joy. The palace officially announced the birth: "The Royal Hashemite Court is delighted to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein were blessed with a baby girl on August 3, 2024, whom they named Iman."
The royal court also congratulated the family. "The Royal Hashemite Court extends its heartfelt congratulations to Their Royal Highnesses, as well as Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, on this joyous occasion and wishes them all the best," the statement read.
The new parents are "overjoyed and grateful for the birth of their firstborn." Instead of flowers and gifts, the royal family requests donations to the "Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans." Founded by Queen Rania (53) in 2003, the non-profit organization supports orphans aged 18 and above.
Congratulations from the Grandparents
King Abdullah (62) expressed his joy on X (formerly Twitter), becoming a grandfather for the first time. "Praise be to God, who has blessed us with our first granddaughter, Iman bint Al-Hussein. I congratulate Al Hussein and Rajwa on their newborn daughter," he addressed his son and daughter-in-law.
The Crown Prince's mother also extended her congratulations. "Praise be to God for His greatest gifts... You have illuminated our lives with your precious granddaughter Iman. Heartfelt congratulations to Hussein and Rajwa, and may God bless your life with happiness and contentment," she wished the couple.
The royal family announced the royal addition in April. The baby was born a year and two months after the couple's wedding in June 2023. Crown Prince Hussein married Saudi Arabian architect Rajwa Alseif on June 1, 2023.
