King Charles and Idris Elba - Joint Engagement against Youth Violence
Full Power for the Youth: British King Charles III (75) and his compatriot, Hollywood star Idris Elba (51), are making a strong stance together - or better said, against the bad. The monarch and the British actor are advocating against youth crime and knife crime.
Roundtable and Audience
They met with the newly elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer (61) and a series of young people for a discussion in the Throne Room of the royal St James's Palace. The two urged support from the government.
The 75-year-old Charles, whose King's Trust works with Elba's own foundation to support young people, said to the Prime Minister, as well as Yvette Cooper (55), the Interior Minister, and Lisa Nandy (44), the Minister for Culture, Media and Sport, that he would "observe and hope for progress" on this topic.
As further photos show, the King received Elba earlier for an audience in the Morning Room of Clarence House.
Elba is a former beneficiary and now an ambassador of the King's Trust, previously known as Prince's Trust. As a teenager, he received a £1,500 grant to attend the National Youth Music Theatre. Through his own Elba Foundation, the actor works with Charles' charitable organization.
Against Knives, for Art
As the "Mirror" further reports, the two also spoke about the collaboration between the King's Trust International, founded in 2015 to combat youth unemployment worldwide, and the Elba Foundation. The international charitable organization founded by Elba and his wife Sabrina focuses on strengthening communities, education, and sustainable development to improve the lives of young people in marginalized communities in the United Kingdom, the USA, and Africa.
The Trust and the Foundation have committed to working together on the new initiative "Creative Futures" to inspire young people through art and support them in finding employment in the creative industry.
Then, all posed in the royal garden, full of anticipation for the EU Football Championship final on Sunday (14. July) with England's football national team jerseys.
