"Jedermann" in Weimar with Thieme as Death

Drama - "Jedermann" in Weimar with Thieme as Death

A "Jedermann" production with a prominent cast is coming to the stage in Weimar: Julian Weigend will be seen in the leading role on the terraces of the Weimarhallenpark during the staging of the classic by Hugo von Hofmannsthal. Weigend is known for his role in the ARD hospital series "In aller Freundschaft". Thomas Thieme ("The Lives of Others"), the Weimar actor, will play the role of death. According to the organizers, Tine Wittler, who was formerly an RTL housing expert, Michaela Schaffrath, and Ralph Morgenstern are also participating. Six open-air productions are planned in Weimar in July (11./12./13.7. and 18./19./20.7.).

In Hugo von Hofmannsthal's "Jedermann", a rich man begins to doubt his greed in the face of death. The play has been the opening production of the Salzburg Festival for over 100 years. 2024 is considered Hofmannsthal's jubilee year: The writer was born in February 150 years ago.
