In mourning today is Jeannette Charles, also known as the 'Double of Queen Elizabeth II', who sadly passed away at the age of 96. Her daughter, Carol Christophi, shared the news in a statement released through 'The Guardian'. The accomplished actress, known for portraying Queen Elizabeth II in many films, television series, and television shows, had her final bow at a nursing home in Essex, England.

As reported by Christophi, her mother's death occurred on June 2nd. In a heartfelt tribute, she described her mother as "a true personality and a natural force," adding that she had "an incredible life."

A Natural 'Queen' Lookalike

Jeannette Charles gained popularity for her striking resemblance to Queen Elizabeth II, most notably in movies like "The Naked Gun" and "Austin Powers in Goldmember." She even made appearances as the English monarch in commercials and on "Saturday Night Live."

Charles spoke with 'The Guardian' in 2022 about how her likeness to the Queen surfaced in her childhood. Although it initially hindered her dreams of pursuing an acting career, she ultimately embraced it and used it to her advantage by becoming a sought-after 'Queen Elizabeth II lookalike.'
