Jasna Fritzi Bauer, known for portraying detective Liv Moormann in the popular "Tatort" crime series from Bremen, has stepped forward to share her personal life with the public. The 35-year-old actress and her artist partner, Katharina Zorn, have been in a relationship for the past five years. While they reside in Berlin, they admitted they had debated whether to go public with their relationship.

Bauer shared their reasons in an exclusive interview with Vogue, while discussing the current unsettled societal climate and growing anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment. "We feel it's time to take a stand and send a message," said Bauer.

They had considered the potential backlash, with Zorn admitting, "We know we'll face negativity." Their six-year-old daughter, Zoe, whose presence came into their relationship as an infant, has often been subjected to comments at kindergarten that she can only have "one real mother." However, Zoe has always referred to them as "one mother" and the "other mother" or "the big mother" and "the small mother." Both mothers consider themselves "100% equal."

Sharing their experience of being young, queer, and parents is a significant challenge for them, as Bauer said, "It was difficult to find anyone who embodied all three. Now, it is essential to be more vulnerable and serve as the role models that are so desperately needed."

Overcoming the fear of potential consequences on her acting career, Bauer expressed confidence in herself, stating, "I don't have any concerns. I'm very comfortable with who I am, and my self-confidence has grown immensely in recent years." She also spoke about her sexual orientation, "I'm bisexual. Period."
