Jake Gyllenhaal is all set to host the final show of the season on May 18, alongside musical guest Sabrina Carpenter. Prior to that, Maya Rudolph will be returning to the Studio 8H stage on May 11 as the host with Vampire Weekend as the musical act for this episode. Rudolph is a beloved "SNL" alum who has previously hosted the show two times earlier, in 2012 and 2021. She used to be a full-time cast member from 2000 to 2007 and is widely known for her impersonations of celebrities like Oprah, Beyoncé and Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as for her iconic original characters like Jodi Dietz in "Bronx Beat". Rudolph won an Emmy award in 2020 for her portrayal of Kamala Harris in an "SNL" sketch. She has been a frequent guest star on the show since 2007 and last appeared in a memorable sketch mimicking Swedish pop group ABBA during a 2023 episode hosted by Kate McKinnon.

Gyllenhaal, on the other hand, is hosting "SNL" for the third time this season. He had first appeared as host in 2007 and then again in 2022. Sabrina Carpenter will be making her debut on "SNL" with her performance, while Vampire Weekend will be returning as the musical guest for the fourth time. This week, Dua Lipa will be gracing the "Saturday Night Live" stage both as the host and musical guest. The show airs on NBC at 11:30 p.m. EDT/8:30 p.m. PDT.
