- Initial details for the 2025 issue
From July 31 to August 3, the Wacken Open Air (WOA) took to the stage. For the 33rd time, one of the world's largest heavy metal festivals was celebrated in the municipality of Wacken in the district of Steinburg in Schleswig-Holstein. On Sunday (4th August), the organizers expressed their satisfaction on Instagram: "Hello metalheads! We say thank you! We can't emphasize enough: We have the best fans in the world!" This year, they were able to experience a sun-kissed WOA with countless great performances together with everyone. "We are thrilled and grateful that you have accepted the travel concept so well and thus made the journey to Wacken stress-free for all fans. We'll see you in Wacken 2025."
The police directorate in Itzehoe also drew a positive balance in a statement. The police were able to ensure that "all visitors could reach the festival safely and comfortably. Thanks to the good cooperation between the police and the organizers, this police requirement could be successfully implemented. This year, everyone arrived at the festival grounds without traffic jams. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive." The number of criminal proceedings is expected to remain at the level of the previous two years. "In total, there will be just under 100 offenses."
