"Join the Dance Party" - In 2024, there is a planned Christmas special.
Gabriel Kelly, the winner of this year's Dancing Star, has only just been crowned and already there's more exciting news for fans of the dance format Let's Dance! According to an announcement made during Screenforce Days by the broadcaster RTL, there will be a special Christmas edition of the show. RTL says, "Why not kick off the Christmas holidays with a spectacular Let's Dance Christmas show? This year, the top performers from previous seasons will face off against popular professional dancers."
It has been confirmed that Daniel Hartwich (45) and Victoria Swarovski (30) will be back as the hosting duo. Additionally, the regular show's original jury - Joachim Llambi (59), Jorge González (56), and Motsi Mabuse (43) - will reprise their roles, with the candidates and contestants, as well as their accompanying professionals, eagerly awaiting their judgments.
Reviving The Christmas Special
The first Christmas special for Let's Dance dates back to 2013 when Magdalena Brzeska (46) and Erich Klann (37) emerged as champions. After that, there was a lull in the Christmas editions for almost ten years until footballer Rúrik Gíslason (36) and professional dancer Malika Dzumaev (33) won the 2022 edition. Last year, singing model Anna Ermakova (24) won the Christmas version of the show.
We still don't know which celebrities will return to the dance floor this year, but thecurrent Dancing Star, Gabriel Kelly, and his partner Malika Dzumaev, had to be a part of the 2023 edition.
