James Gunn has declared the shoot for 'Superman' completed. In a message, he thanked the team behind the film.

The "Superman" reboot takes a step closer to its release with the completion of filming. Director James Gunn (57) announced on Tuesday (30th July) on social media that the blockbuster is in the can. In his message, the DC Studios CEO expressed his gratitude for the time spent on set.

He posted a photo of himself and cast members, including lead actor David Corenswet (31), on a snowy mountain in Norway. The snapshot was taken during the first week of filming, as he noted in his post. "Bless our actors and crew, whose dedication, creativity, and hard work brought this project to life," he praised the team. He thanked them for the kindness, warmth, and love shown to him, which gave him the necessary boost when he felt drained.

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you all. It was an honor," he expressed his gratitude to everyone involved. "The goal was Superman, but the journey was the struggle and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and the magic we shared on set," the screenwriter added. The end of filming followed a five-month shooting period. In late February, Gunn announced on Instagram that filming had just begun.

Prominent Cameo Appearance

The remake of the 1978 superhero film, according to the film website "IMDB", follows Superman "on his journey to reconcile his heritage with his human upbringing". The film is set to hit theaters in July 2025.

In the original film, Christopher Reeve (1952-2004) played the role of Superman. According to the news portal "Cleveland.com", his son Will Reeve (32) has a cameo appearance in the remake. "TMZ" reported that the "ABC News" reporter was more nervous during the filming than in all his previous TV appearances.

James Gunn, the director of the "Superman" reboot and DC Studios CEO, expressed gratitude towards his dedicated cast and crew on social media after wrapping up filming. Notably, ABC News reporter Will Reeve, son of the original Superman actor Christopher Reeve, made a cameo appearance in the remake.
