Sarah Knappik in Legends-JungleCamp - I want to find peace

Sarah "Dingens" Knappik (37) is back and wants to make things right this time around. Along with twelve other former contestants, she will enter the jungle once again in August for "Ich bin ein Star - Showdown der Dschungel-Legenden" on RTL+ starting August 15th. Her first stint in 2011 did not go well: The former "GNTM" contestant left the camp more or less voluntarily after several contestants threatened to quit if she stayed.

"I have changed"

Sarah Knappik aims to prove what's inside her during "I'm a Star - The Jungle Legends" starting August 16th (August 15th on RTL+). The 37-year-old model stated in a press release, "My mission is to bring back the little Sarah who got lost in the jungle."

In the past 13 years, the model has changed, but her determination to win at the Dschungelcamp remains unbroken. "I want to find peace and challenge myself," Knappik emphasized.

Six failed challenges

Sarah Knappik became the most disliked contestant in the camp and among the audience in Season 5. The viewers chose her for six challenges, and she returned empty-handed each time. She refused one challenge and abandoned another. Her reporting style about tasks did not sit well with her campmates.

Forced Mathieu Carrière to his knees

When Sarah Knappik claimed that Jay Khan (42) had unsuccessfully tried to fake a romantic relationship with her and was now in a relationship with Indira Weis (44), her campmates were outraged. Mathieu Carrière (73) begged her on bended knee to leave the camp. The actor was not alone in his wish, as five other contestants presented an ultimatum to the production: Either Sarah Knappik leaves the camp, or they all quit voluntarily.

This pressure became too much for the then 24-year-old. With the statement "I'm a Star - Get me out of here!", she freed herself from the uncomfortable situation. Sarah Knappik finished in 8th place, and Peer Kusmagk (49) eventually secured the crown, maintaining a diplomatic demeanor throughout the entire ordeal.
