2nd league - HSV with second away win - Fortuna wins in Magdeburg

Hamburger SV have ended their negative streak in the 2nd Bundesliga. After six away games without a win, the Hanseatic side won 2:0 (0:0) at 1. FC Nürnberg and secured third place in the table at the end of the first half of the season. This should put an end to the discussions surrounding HSV coach Tim Walter for the time being.

It was the third home defeat in a row for Nuremberg. Goalscorer Robert Glatzel (80) and Jean-Luc Dompé (90+7) scored for the visitors, who secured their second away win of the season.

Eleven days after their 2:1 cup win in Magdeburg, runners-up Fortuna Düsseldorf came back from 2-0 down to win 3:2 (0:2). The Rhinelanders thus moved up to fourth place in the table. Vincent Vermeij (46th/75th) and Shinta Appelkamp (70th) scored the goals for Fortuna. Herbert Bockhorn (17') and Xavier Amaechi (37') scored for Magdeburg to give them a 2-0 lead.

Hertha BSC remained undefeated in their ninth consecutive competitive match, but had to settle for a 0-0 draw against bottom-of-the-table VfL Osnabrück in front of their own fans.

FC Schalke 04 had already missed out on a third consecutive win on Friday evening with a 2-2 draw against SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The match between SC Paderborn and Hansa Rostock, which was overshadowed by rioting, was won 3-0 by the hosts.
